Summary

Wynne Brown will present a glimpse into the life, letters, and recently re-discovered botanical illustrations of Sara Plummer Lemmon — for whom Tucson’s Mount Lemmon is named. Perched at the intersection of science and art in the Arizona Territory, Sara’s story is one of curiosity, tenacity, and grit.

Wynne spent six years as a reporter and copy editor at a mid-size daily newspaper and has also written for many other publications. She is the author of the award-winning books, More Than Petticoats: Remarkable Arizona Women and The Falcon Guide to Trail Riding Arizona, and the co-editor of Cave Creek Canyon: Revealing the Heart of Arizona’s Chiricahua Mountains.

Her biography of Sara Lemmon is close to completion.
