Celebrate Mexico's Independence holiday with an online workshop on one of the country’s most recognized dishes, Chiles en Nogada. Consisting of roasted and stuffed poblano chiles, bathed in a white walnut sauce and topped with pomegranate seeds, the tricolor dish reflects the color of the Mexican flag, and is very much tied to the fiestas patrias, the patriotic days of celebration leading up to el Dia de Independencia, on September 16th. Emerging from the cuisine of the mid 19th century, this classic dish has a little bit of everything when it comes to delighting the palate, sweet, savory, spicy, and just a bit of tart.
