Description

This lecture aims to introduce the broad range of foods used by the people of the Sonoran Desert before the Columbian exchange, as well as those introduced into the landspace by European settlers which have become symbolic of the Sonoran region. From the wild greens called quelites, continuing to dot our landscape, to ate de membrillo, wheat flour, and lizard soup, this lecture hopes to pay tribute to the wide range of foods found in the very green Sonoran Desert.
