Description

The Border Community Alliance invites you to join us for the 2018 Folklorico Celebration on Sunday, March 4 with great food, wonderful music, and an award-winning high school dance team from Banamichi, Mexico. The dancers, who call themselves "Danza Xunutzi" won second place in competition with all of Mexico! They will begin our afternoon in colorful fashion with traditional costumes and high energy performances. All of this at a beautiful new home in Spanish Colonial style overlooking the Tubac Golf Resort!

Funds raised from this event will support BCA's summer internship program. Last summer six students joined us from colleges and universities across the country to spend a month and a half to learn everything they could about "border issues". They immersed themselves in a wide variety of perspectives, learned from humanitarian groups, activists, the Border Patrol and many others and then returned to complete degrees in international relations, history, Spanish, journalism and law enforcement. We anticipate the arrival of a similar-sized group on June 18. BCA provides housing, a small stipend, transportation and guidance. We need your help to make this possible.
