This presentation is at the University of Arizona Campus In his carefully researched study, Seth Schermerhorn, Ph.D., explores the context and practice of the Tohono O'odham as they make their annual pilgrimage to Magdalena in Sonora, Mexico. Told with scholarly rigor and passionate empathy, Schermerhorn offers a deep understanding of Tohono O'odham Christian traditions as practiced in everyday life and in the words of the O'odham themselves. Dr. Schermerhorn is author of the book with this title (University of Nebraska Press, 2019) as well as other scholarly articles. He is Assistant Professor of Religious Studies at Hamilton College.
